A new month means new features and updates to Microsoft 365 apps! This month, Microsoft shares a few updates to Microsoft Teams including the availability of Polls, noise suppression, and more! They also share updates to Microsoft Endpoint Data Loss Prevention, Microsoft Dataverse and much more.

Let’s have a look at the Microsoft 365 November updates below:

Updates to Microsoft Teams

Polls

With the form integration already available in Teams, meeting presenters can now easily create polls in advance, then launch them during meetings. The integration allows attendees to easily view and answer the poll and is a great way to keep participants engaged during these meetings.
Meeting presenters can choose to keep users’ responses anonymous or completely close a poll to prevent any more responses.
Published polls will display in a popup on the respondent’s screen as well as in the meeting’s chat.
Polls for Teams meetings has largely rolled out and will be available to all users by December.

Noise Suppression

Family members not keeping quiet during your Teams meetings or construction workers busy making noise outside? Teams now has an automatic, real-time noise suppression feature which helps reduce unwanted background noise during your calls.

Power Automate

Another new feature newly available in Teams is the Power Automate app.

It provides a lightweight designer experience and many different templates to help users get started with building workflows right in Teams.
The app will also make it easier to convert repetitive tasks into automatic routine tasks, for example, if you like to schedule one-on-one calls with employees.

Microsoft Dataverse

Microsoft Dataverse (previously known as Common Data Service) is now generally available to Microsoft 365 users.

“Microsoft Dataverse is a low code data platform that helps users build apps and bots in Teams without needing to connect to storage, manage integrations or switch applications.”
The Power app has built-in security and governance features which provide full control of access to workflows, bots, and apps with their underlying data.

Microsoft Endpoint Data Loss Prevention

Protecting and managing your organisation’s data securely is critical. It’s more important than ever to have the necessary tools and applications to support remote and hybrid work scenarios as many are currently still working from home.
That’s why it’s great to hear that Microsoft Endpoint Data Loss Prevention (aka Endpoint DLP) is now generally available.
“This solution enables organisations to enforce policies that identify and prevent risky or inappropriate sharing, transfer or use of sensitive information across Cloud and On-Premise endpoints.”
