One of the best features of Office 365 is that the Microsoft team is continuously updating, tweaking, and upgrading their products. Because of the continuous updates, you can rest easy knowing that your product is always the best Microsoft has to offer.
We’re going to take an in-depth look at some of the March updates.
Microsoft Whiteboard: Ink Beautification / Ink Grab
The Microsoft Whiteboard feature contains a virtual white canvas which users can collaborate on or jot down ideas, no matter their location.
With the ink beautification feature, you can increase the readability of notes that were jotted down by analyzing the handwriting and replacing it with more decipherable strokes (i.e. those people with terrible handwriting).
Another feature available in Microsoft Whiteboard is the Ink Grab features. Content from a physical whiteboard can be converted to a digital whiteboard.
This is a great feature to save time by decreasing the time spent on copying notes.
Added Features to LinkedIn Integration
Integration with LinkedIn was announced in the January update. Since then, more innovations have been added to increase its effectiveness. The feature enables you to link your LinkedIn account with your Office 365 account. You can see insights about people you work with, though it’s not limited to just people inside your organization.
3D Embedded Animation
If you have a Mac with an Office 365 subscription, this next feature will suit you perfectly.
Mac already has an amazing display, now add 3D animation to that and the result will truly be delightful. Mac users running the Mac versions of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel will be able to use 3D embedded animations with their Office 365 subscription.
The 3D feature will not only help your content stand out, but will increase engagement, improve users understanding, and will also keep your audience entertained.
Intelligent Features in Outlook on the Web
Microsoft 365 will roll out new intelligent features for Outlook on the Web (OWA) in the next few weeks. These features include suggestions for attachments relevant to the conversation, the option to create a meeting directly from an e-mail conversation, and information, like e-mails and files, will be available to the Outlook user which are relevant to the meeting or event on the user’s calendar.
Live Events
Live, on-demand events can be created by anyone using video and interactive discussions across Yammer, Microsoft Stream, and Microsoft Teams. Attendees who cannot make the event live, or who live in different time zones, can be included in the event. If they want to catch up, they can watch the event in their own time with powerful AI features which will unlock the content for the user.
Forms Pro
Another feature announced for Microsoft 365 is the public preview of Microsoft Forms Pro. With this, you’ll be able to distribute surveys, custom forms, simple lead capturing and analysis forms, employee feedback forms – you name it!
Microsoft 365 Security Centre
The new Microsoft 365 security centre will monitor and manage users’ security across their Microsoft identities, applications, data, devices, and infrastructure. The dashboard provides security professionals with a customised workspace to manage complete security capabilities of Microsoft 365.
Microsoft 365 Admin Centre
The new Microsoft 365 admin centre will help IT professionals manage their Office 365 and Microsoft 365 services all in one place.
Threat and Vulnerability Management
New threat and vulnerability capabilities have been announced in Microsoft Defender. The new capabilities help identify underlying threats and vulnerabilities in Microsoft or 3rd party apps.
It also provides automated remediation through System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or Intune to help you identify and solve problems in your infrastructure.
