Custom Search

IT admins are now able to create custom search result pages in SharePoint Online. The newest feature of SharePoint Online allows you to control the design and layout of how the search results are displayed in your organisation.

The feature helps increase the flexibility of Microsoft Search allowing for a tailor-made experience that can meet your business needs.

Office “What’s New” Management

The “What’s New” feature is now available in the Office desktop app. With all the new features released by Microsoft every month, easily keep track of them all with this awesome feature.

IT admins are also able to choose which features to show or hide from end-users that use the Office application.

The feature also allows you to receive visibility into new Office updates for each version and channel while allowing you to filter the list of features by channel, status, application, monthly channel, and more.

Yammer eDiscovery & Native Mode

eDiscovery for Yammer is now generally available for 365 users.

What is eDiscovery?

eDiscovery is a feature that allows users to respond to any pending litigation and put legal holds in place for users using the Yammer application to ensure their content is stored and cannot be changed.

The feature is available to all customers who are in Native Mode.

Native Mode

The Native Mode network in Yammer is a network alignment configuration that allows users and files to be managed in the Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365 admin centre. Yammer communities are connected in an Office 365 group, and all the files that users upload into Yammer, are stored in a communities default SharePoint document library. This will ensure your organisation’s files are complying with compliance and security policies you’ve implemented for SharePoint. Native Mode is available in preview functionality.

Visio Drawings

Users of the Microsoft Teams app have been able to create new Excel, Word, and Powerpoint files directly within the app for a while, but now they are able to create Visio drawings as well.

How do you access the feature?

Simply go to any team in Teams, click on the Files tab, then select the new Visio drawing option in the dropdown menu.

The file will be stored in the file library within the team you’re working in.

Collaborate

After the Visio file has been created, the members within the selected team will be able to view, edit, and collaborate with members within the Microsoft Teams application.

The editing feature is only available if your organisation is either on the Visio online plan 1 or 2 subscriptions.

However, Office 365 customers are still freely able to view the Visio file.

Collaborate in Visio for the Web

As you are able to collaborate in web apps like Excel for the web and Word for the web, you are now able to collaborate online with Visio for the web.

German Data Centres

Office 365 customers are now able to get trusted cloud services and meet local compliance requirements in Germany with the new regional data centre.

OneNote

Dark Mode

Microsoft has announced Dark Mode for other 365 applications with previous updates, now the feature is available for OneNote for Android as well.

Switch between a bright white theme or a darker grey/ subtle black theme.

Inking Features

There are now more inking features available to users in the OneNote for Android app. Features include 20 different pen colours to work with, as well as a lasso tool, to make element selection easier.

As usual, Microsoft has implemented great new features to allow Office 365 users to collaborate easier with their other team members and ensure productivity remains hi
